Hello there everybody!
I hope you’re doing well! This is going to be the very first post of the year on this particular blog! TIME SURE FLIES! I hope everyone is going to have a great year!
I was doing my assignment for class when my teacher from another class submitted an interesting article from TheVerge, stating that it was very interesting information. I decided to read it and thought that this extension, if it works, might be very interesting and might help language learners, who knows? And so, I decided to share it with you.
Basically, Learning Language with Netflix comes as a Google Chrome extension, and as of the writing of this post, it only works with Netflix – because that’s what’s in its name. I wonder if they would do the same with another media, like YouTube, or something else. It lets you watch a movie or a TV episode in its original language with two subtitles: one in the original language and the other one in yours. A pop-up dictionary also helps you understand the meaning of certain words!
I’m describing this very minimally, but you can look at their website or the Verge article to find out more if you are interested. I just stopped my subscription to Netflix, so I guess I personally will not be able to review this extension. However – and I’m writing this post mostly to myself, so that I can remember – I would be interested in looking at it for sure when (or if) I re-new my subscription!!
What do you think? Would it work with you? Would you use it?
Anyways, see you next time! Happy new year, once again!
