Hello there, everybody!
How are you doing? I’m doing well, I guess, I just received information about an important assignment that I just wanted to sort of share with you.
A Strong Aside/Introduction
So, you have just begun your Pedagogy class or you’ve talked to an upperclass-person (who may have said: “Oh, so you’re going to be doing that storybook assignment? Oh, good luck! It’s fun.”), and you may have heard about this fabled “storybook” assignment which is worth for a lot.
And then, throughout the whole semester, till the middle of the semester, the name of the assignment comes up, once. Twice. “Oh yeah, just wait for the storybook assignment, which is worth so much out of your grade,” your professor says, making your ears twitch. Will she tell you anything more about it?
No. Wake up.
You’re daydreaming.
The professor continues to lecture and you are left with more questions than answers about the assignment. This can leave you frustrated or anxious, or both. Or, like my classmates, you may be completely fine. I am here to tell you anxious future teachers that I feel you, and I totally understand.
I have just gotten the entire information about it, and while I will not tell you exactly everything – because of the repercussions this may not be so good for me – let me just appease your worries at least a little bit.
If your professors are on time, you should have had enough practice – with your own experience through TESL 326 and with the Cycle 1 task in this particular class – to actually pull through this assignment. Have no worries.
At any rate, let me just ease your mind. The storybook assignment, while worth for A LOT in your final grade, will be “simple”: you will be creating activities based off storybooks and following instructions.
Anyways, thank you for understanding my frustration with this,
I hope that I was able to alleviate your anxiety for a little bit.
