Hello there, all,
How’s it going? I trust this post finds you in a healthy way!
Today, my sister was asking me about a web browser called Ecosia, and it reminded me for some reason of Free Rice, and it is a GREAT website which I wanted to show you!
What is this website and what does it offer?
This website is fun, because it lets students (or teachers?) practice certain easy ‘basic’ elements of different subjects in school, from math (for basic Algebra to multiplication tables exercises), to different languages (like Latin, French, German, Czech, etc.), to even chemistry symbols to even geography (with flags, etc.). In terms of English, we have English grammar questions as well as vocabulary questions, which I find very nice.
One of the reasons why I really like this website is better explained through this quote from their website:
For each answer you get right, our sponsors send the cash equivalent of 5 grains of rice to the World Food Programme, who use it to save and change lives.
I like the idea to encourage students to use this, in order to better themselves and still give something to the world. As far as I know, this website doesn’t have a downside to it other than perhaps the way in which they study vocabulary – by doing this rather than by encouraging students to use it in a sentence and practice manipulating with it. Of course, I’m not saying that they would need to do that, though!
I hope that was fun for you!
Have a great rest of your month,
PV
