Hey there everybody,
How’s it going? After I wrote down my post for October 30th, 2024, I remembered something I really wanted to use as a positive entry! I wasn’t sure how to do this, since I’m technically not writing this on the proper day, but I decided that I’m the one that makes these rules, so here goes:

Today, I introduced my students to Drawtober 2023, where I give them a prompt every day.

Context 1

Every year, I always want to do something with October for Drawtober, but I never truly had the time. This year, somehow, I thought about it. I googled the prompts I liked the best and I found this post (link) on Instagram by Mabgraves, an artist whose Linktree is right here.

As they come into the class, they have the 15 minutes between classes as well as 10 minutes after the bell rings to start writing sentences (in the past tense, or in the present tense, or using adjectives, it depends on the Grammar we’d seen) about the prompt. It makes me responsible too, because before the start of each class, I have to read their prompts, give them comments and grade their sentences. My hope is that it will help them create stronger sentences for when we officially begin the third competency, C3.
