Hey there everybody,
This is my last post of the day, I promise (hopefully!). I wanted to give an update on the Drawtober idea:

Today, I realized that students come in and they are expecting a drawtober prompt on the board.

Context 1

As I wrote before, students come into the class, they are supposed to have the 15 minutes between classes as well as 10 minutes after the bell rings to start writing sentences (using the grammar that we’ve practiced) about the prompt.

On the students’ end, they still wait until very long before the bell rings. They need to go socialize and talk to each other – which I do understand, so I won’t say too much – before they start their prompts, but the students that take the time and do it before the bell rights? Wow, their work is pretty good.

On my side, so far anyway, I haven’t missed any corrections, it is sometimes quite a delight to read the students’ little sentences. It does imply that I leave the school later, or that I bring a lot of work home, but I’m crossing my fingers that it also means the students’ written work will just be better by this time next semester!!
