Hey there, everybody,
How’s it going? It’s Xmas soon, which means… already… almost half of the semester (étape 2) is over, and I’ve been stressing myself out trying to finish my corrections. Here’s today’s journal entry:
I actually managed to finish all the corrections today, right before the Xmas break.
Some context:
Every year, I struggle to finish my grading the evaluated work early enough to be able to enter the grades before the deadline for report cards. Last year, I made it before the due hour, but I wanted to be better this year. Well, guess what? Because the second semester (Étape 2) is supposed to be C1 and C3, I’ve been making my students write a few sentences every class. When they’re not doing that, they will be, essentially, writing a big written production.
The students finished a written production on December 9th at the latest (the earliest groups finished their final copy on December 2nd). There was a PED day on Friday December 6th, which meant I had time during that day and that whole weekend to do some corrections.
To do that, I had made myself an Excel (or Google Spreadsheet, I guess) sheet with my evaluation grid, and it automatically graded everyone based on checkmarks that I assigned them. It was AWESOME, so glorious and quick that I finished before the holidays, which means I will be able to completely relax during the holidays, which I feel like I’ve never done in my four years of teaching (so far)).
All right, I’ll call it a day and wish you all happy holidays!
Take good care of yourselves,
VP
