Positivity Journal 2023-10-30

Monday, October 30th, 2023

Hey there everybody,
I trust everybody is doing well! Ever since the school year started, I’ve been meaning to get SOME positivy journal entries going, but I somehow never got the time to? And now that I’m very close to the end of the first semester – when I have tons of things to do, here I am, sitting down and trying to write something.

Today, even though I felt overwhelmed by the work, I sat down and decided on the weight of each class work that I’ve been giving my students for the first semester.

Monday, October 30th, 2023

Hey there everybody,
This is my last post of the day, I promise (hopefully!). I wanted to give an update on the Drawtober idea:

Today, I realized that students come in and they are expecting a drawtober prompt on the board.

Positivity Journal 2023-10-12

Monday, October 30th, 2023

Hey there everybody,
How’s it going? After I wrote down my post for October 30th, 2024, I remembered something I really wanted to use as a positive entry! I wasn’t sure how to do this, since I’m technically not writing this on the proper day, but I decided that I’m the one that makes these rules, so here goes:

Today, I introduced my students to Drawtober 2023, where I give them a prompt every day.

January 28th, 2024

Hello there, everybody,
This school year (2023-2024) is really difficult for me at the moment. There are so many new responsibilities that I’ve been encouraged to take on, that I’m now realizing I was never really going to be able to take on, on top of just lesson planning and teaching, but it’s also the year that we went on strike

Seeing as I’m scheduling this in the same year (2024), I am hoping that we did get some good things from the strike and that it is not going to have been for nothing? But… anyways, let’s move on to my recommendation for you today:

Positivity Journal 2023-04-18

Tuesday, April 18th, 2023

Hey there everybody,
I was so proud of myself for letting Positivity Journal Entry 0 to be published rather than let it rot in my drafts section until I finally gave myself enough courage to do it. It’s a bit difficult right now to find time to write.

Today, even though I didn’t feel like going to work, I did it. I also received a message from one of my hoodlums from regular classes last year that made my day.

Written Productions (in English)

May 22nd, 2022

Hey there, everybody,
Hope you’re doing well! Last week, I started a post titled: “Written Productions (in French),” which technically should be already published on this blog and you should be able to find it over here.

I am continuing to prepare some of my students for their Ministry exams, and of course, I was thinking of keeping track of how many words students need to be able to write for a written production in English. I think that this is pretty important, given the fact that we want students to be ready for their end-of-year exam.

November 6th, 2020

Hello there, everybody!
How are you doing? I attended a SPEAQ Annual Convention today, and I found so many resources that I thought I would share with all of you. I will be interspacing some of these posts with my previously scheduled posts, so as to not flood the blog with posts.

TESL 351: History of the English Language

January 7th, 2020

Good morning, everybody,
How is it going? We have only just begun the year 2020 and I’m already looking towards 2021 (when I should be done with my program and maybe I can finally have my teaching license and my teaching diploma!)!

Anyways, it is the first week of classes, and already, I am overwhelmed by the amount of work for each classes this semester: TESL427, TESL351 and TESL415 (and then, eventually, TESL467). As this is my first post from this “era” of my academic career, I wanted to share with you a couple of “anecdotes” and a few recommendations that I haven’t done yet.
