TESL 330: Flippity

November 9th, 2020

Hello, all!
How are you all doing? I hope this post finds you well! I hope that we are having a great summer so far, whether we are having summer classes, or maybe having summer jobs or just relaxing!

Just in case you are still working, either on lesson plans or on re-vamping them… here is a resource that might be fun to discover:

Flippity.netThe website that I want to tell you about is Flippity, it is a website that offers you templates for various games that you can create on Spreadsheets, Google Spreadsheets, or Excel sheets, from timelines, to board games, matching games, name randomizer, etc. Not only are there templates, but there are also instructions on how to use them, as well as a demo, to help you visualize what it can do.

Quiz Show ScreenshotThese templates and games can be used to encourage students to create such games as a reinvestment task of some kind, perhaps. Plus, they would be learning to use Information and Communication Technology.

Teachers can also use these tools in a real class as well as with online learning. I feel like these would make students more engaged in a class if teachers surprised them through the use of technology, right?

I hope you’re having a nice month and that it keeps going well!
Keep yourselves safe, see you in another month,
PV
