Sightwords

November 9th, 2020

Hello there, all,
How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well, I’m hoping that the school year is ending on a nice term for you all, whether you are a student, a teacher or… a mix of both! I hope school was nice, and that it’s ending nicely!

Anyways, here I go with yet another post:

What is this website?

Sight WordsThis is a website that helps mostly with Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) and Kindergarten kind of classes, maybe even in a daycare setting, I feel, but I thought this might still be interesting to share and it made me want to add a new category to my list of categories already, I’m sorry for making this even more confusing…

What does this website offer me?

This free website works as a blog – it has blog posts about various interesting topics like phonemes, etc. It also works as a repertoire of lesson plans and ideas for games that relate to:

  • Reading Awareness
  • Number Awareness

They offer PDFs with instructions for games that you can create and do with your students or children, which I find very interesting. They even have flashcards which you could use for teaching or just for play, I think. I think it’s so important to develop literacy, so I find that this resource might be very helpful and I hope it becomes so for you, if it relates to your field.

I hope this was useful for you all, Educators or Teachers or even Parents!
Happy exploring, and see you next month – rest well in the meantime!
