Hi there, everybody,
How’s it goin’? I just finished writing my post about Geocaching, and something just CLICKED. I remembered that there was something else that I learned from when I was at UdeM: Goosechase.
What is it?
Well, similarly to Geocaching, Goosechase is a scavenger hunt kind of application that you can do with your students. You can give them a few challenges such as visual arts (photography), or as social sciences (geography and history), for example. Of course, you can probably use it for other school subjects as well.
You can choose for students to be in teams or to be by themselves. You can also choose the duration of your activity. For the activities, you can have many missions (Photo/Video mission, Text mission or GPS mission) to make the students find. Each mission will be worth a certain amount of points, which you as a teacher will decide. They can submit pictures, videos or both in order to show that they completed their missions.

If you are, as I am, teaching English, you could follow this particular tutorial from Lindsay Ann Learning’s YouTube Channel. In English, you can give prompts to your students and they would have to submit an answer via video, for example.
You and/or your students can access Goosechase on your Android phone or Android tablet (link from the Google Play Store (the image on the left also comes from here)), as well as on any Apple product like iPhones or iPads (link from the Apple App Store). You can also take a look at their official website (link from their website).
Pricing: At the time of writing this, this application can be free with restrictions such as: up to only 3 teams (there are only 5 phones per team allowed, too) or 3 participants. You can also only do one experience at a time if I understand correctly. There is special pricing for Non-profit organizations as well as enterprises. I’m not sure what the difference could be between Department-wide and Enterprise though, I’m guessing it would be the amount of people using it?
I think that’s gonna be it from me today,
Have a great day,
Miss PV
